International - Study abroad

Erasmus Program of the Department of Educational Sciences and Psychology

For many years, the Department of Educational Sciences and Psychology has maintained international contacts with universities in other European countries as well as worldwide. The Department of Educational Sciencse and Psychology is concerned with scientific exchange as well as with the promotion of lecturer mobility and student exchange. Within the framework of the Erasmus program, the department is happy to support interested students in taking up a semester abroad during their Bachelor's/Master's studies and give them an insight about German Teacher Education and our educational system.

Please be aware that most of our courses are held in German!

FAQ about the Erasmus+ stay abroad

Usually, most of your courses should be chosen from our department. Under certain circumstances courses from other departments can also be chosen. Please contact our team at: erasmus.fk12tu-dortmundde if you intend to visit courses from other department.

Please be aware that the course catalogue changes frequently, therefore the finalized catalogue is only available a few months in advance.

Furthermore, keep in mind that you can participate in the German Intensive Course one month before the start of the semester which is usually credited with 7 ECTS. This course may be listed in the Learning Agreement, while the German Language Course during the semester unfortunately cannot be listed in the initial Learning Agreement since the demand is very high and we cannot guarantee free seats.

Courses from the Department of Educational Sciences and Psychology have to be booked via our online booking system at: https://www.lsf.tu-dortmund.de/qisserver/rds?state=user&type=0&language=en.

You should enroll in your courses as soon as possible after your arrival since the deadline usually ends a few weeks before the beginning of the semester.

The Transcript of Records (ToR) is not issued automatically. Please make an appointment at erasmus.fk12tu-dortmundde and submit the course certificates of all courses and exams attended in order to receive your ToR. Even if you know that some exam results are not yet available at the time of your departure, please contact us to discuss how to proceed.

The Certificate of Attendance is not issued automatically. If you have received a template for this certificate from your home university, we can also sign the document when you meet with us regarding the Transcript of Records. If you have not received a template for this certificate from your home university, Miriam Gothe will issue the certificate of attendance.

As start and end date of your Erasmus mobility no other dates can be stated than the first and last date you were in Dortmund for academic reasons. The end date of your mobility can be e.g. your last exam, a deadline for a paper or an appointment with the Departmental Coordinator. The Certificate of Attendance can be signed or issued at the earliest one week before the academically relevant end date.
